Habitat and Description: Locally frequent shrub in weedy vaguely halophytic mesquite-dominated vegetation on bladed sites on somewhat saline or gypseous soils on higher parts of alluvial/colluvial flat between limestone ridges. Associates include Baccharis neglecta, Berberis trifoliolata, Clematis drummondii, Koeberlinia spinosa, Lepidium alyssoides var. angustifolium, Peganum harmala, Prosopis glandulosa, Sporobolus airoides.
