Habitat and Description: Locally common in reddish sandy loam along partially shaded margin of mesquite woodland on very gently upland underlain by Goliad Formation. Associates include Brachiaria ciliatissima, Cenchrus ciliatis, Chloris cucullata, Cordia biossieri, Croton capitatus, Eragrostis secundiflora, Evolvulus nuttallianus, Lantana horrida, Opuntia spp., Palafoxia texana, Prosopis glandulosa, Waltheria indica, and Zanthoxylum fagara.
