Habitat and Description: Locally common in fine sandy loam Alfisols in shade of post oak, blackjack oak, Texas black hickory on gently sloping former river terrace. Associates include Chloris cucullata, Dichanthelium sp., Fimbristylis puberula, Hordeum pusillum, Tridens flavus var. flavus, Vulpia octoflora, Asclepias oenotheroides, Callirhoe involucrata, Cnidoscolus texanus, Descurainia pinnata, Evolvulus sericeus, Galium texense, Helenium badium, Lepidium virginicum, Linaria sp., Oenothera laciniata, Phacelia patuliflora, Phlox roemeriana, Senecio ampullaceus, and Viola rafinesquii.
