Habitat and Description: Subshrub with low spreading stems. Disk florets appearing whitish. Rare under or among taller shrubs in mesquite-colima woodland/shrubland on deep, well drained, calcareous, moderately alkaline fine sandy loam (Willamar Series) on gently undulating landscape of Holocene sand sheet over Goliad Formation. Associates include Aloysia gratissima, Bernardia myricifolia, Diospyros texana, Forestiera angustifolia, Gymnosperma glutinosum, Hibiscus martianus, Karwinskia humboldiana, Phaulothamnus spinescens, Pithecellobium ebano, Prosopis glandulosa, Salvia ballotiflora, Zanthoxylum fagara.
