Habitat and Description: Rare in fine sandy loam over Goliad Formation, in partial shade of rather dense mesquite-granjeno woodland in dry bottom of shallow narrow drainage. Associates include Aloysia gratissima, Calyptocarpus vialis, Carlowrightia parviflora, Celtis pallida, Colubrina texensis, Eupatorium odoratum, Guaiacum angustifolium, Hybanthus verticillatus, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Lantana urticoides, Lithospermum matamorense, Nicotiana repanda, Parietaria pensylvanica, Passiflora foetida, Prosopis glandulosa, Solanum triquetrum, Tridens texanus, Urtica chamaedryoides, and Zanthoxylum fagara.
