Habitat and Description: Common in open shrubland on shallow stony clay soil on slightly convex limestone ridgetop. Vegetation dominated by Dasylirion texanum, Dyssodia acerosa, Thelesperma simplicifolium, Mimosa sp. Other associates include Acleisanthes longiflora, Allium drummondii, Berberis trifoliolata, Castilleja sessiliflora, Chaetopappa bellioides, Forestiera angustifolia, Gaillardia suavis, Gilia rigidula, Hedyotis acerosa, Juniperus pinchotii, Polygala macradenia, Salvia texana, Simsia calva, Tetraneuris scaposa, Tiquilia canescens.
