Habitat and Description: Locally common, ca. 100 shrubs observed, in mixed shrubland on shallow reddish-brown fine sandy loam on gently undulating upland underlain by calcareous sandstone of Goliad Formation. Associates include Acacia rigidula, Colubrina texensis, Opuntia sp., Diospyros texana, Salvia ballotiflora, Jatropha dioica, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Prosopis glandulosa.
