Habitat and Description: Occasional among shortgrasses, annual forbs and low perennials in open shrubland on very gravelly/stony clay soils on gentle limestone slope just above bottom of broad dry limestone canyon. Associates include Allium drummondii, Ammoselinum popei, Aphanostephus ramosissimus, Condalia viridis, Croton dioicus, Cryptantha mexicana, Dalea nana, Erioneuron pilosum, Evax verna, Guaiacum angustifolium, Hymenoxys odorata, Juniperus sp., Koeberlinia spinosa, Lepidium lasiocarpum, Nama hispidum, Opuntia lindheimeri, Plantago helleri, P. patagonica, P. rhodosperma, Prosopis glandulosa, Senna pumilio, Tetraclea coulteri, Tiquilia canescens.
