Habitat and Description: Occasional shrub in small patch of aberrant dense herbaceous vegetation among large mesquite on deep nonsaline soil in valley flat between gentle slopes of Cretaceous limestone. Associates include Aphanostephus sp., Aristida longiseta, Artemisia ludoviciana, Bouteloua curtipendula, Clematis drummondii, Conyza coulteri, Ditaxis humilis, Gaillardia suavis, Glandularia sp., Lycium pallidum, Marrubium vulgare, Nyctaginea capitata, Panicum obtusum, Pappophorum vaginatum, Prosopis glandulosa, Psilostrophe sp., Ratibida columnifera, Rhynchosida physocalyx, Salvia reflexa, Setaria sp., Sida abutifolia, Solanum elaeagnifolium, Sorghum halepense, Tridens albescens.
