Habitat and Description: Rare in white "sugar" sand on gently undulating or hummocky upland underlain by Goliad Formation (per GAT) and supporting live oak / beautyberry woodlands with sandhill openings. Associates include Acalypha radians, Berlandiera texana, Callicarpa americana, Chamaecrista texana, Commelina erecta, Froelichia floridana, Helianthus debilis, Oenothera heterophylla, Phyllanthus abnormis, Quercus virginiana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Schrankia latidens, Stylisma pickeringii.
