Habitat and Description: Rare, local in mesic box canyon header in palisade rimrock wall at top of N-facing rhyolite slope. Associates in general area include Acer grandidentatum, Aletes acaulis, Aquilegia sp., Arbutus xalapensis, Asclepias texana, Bidens bigelovii, Bouvardia ternifolia, Bromus polyanthus, Celtis reticulata, Cerococarpus montanus, Forestiera pubescens, Garrya wrightii, Halimolobus sp., Heterotheca viscosa, Heuchera rubescens, Penstemon barbatus, Philadelphus sp., Prunus serotina ssp. virens, Quercus gravesii, Q. grisea, Rhus aromtatica, Silene lacinata, Stipa tenuissima, and Thelypodiopsis wrightii.
