Habitat and Description: Occasional in bluestem-dominated prairie grassland on shallow stony clay soils. Associates include Agalinis heterophylla, Ambrosia psilostachya, Andropogon gerardii, Artemisia ludoviciana, Aster ericoides, Calylophus sp., Centaurea americana, Croton monanthogynus, Eriogonum longifolium, Eryngium leavenworthii, Euphorbia marginata, Gutierrezia texana, Liatris mucronata, Polytaenia nuttallii, Psoralidium tenuiflorum, Salvia azurea, Schizachyrium scoparium, Sorghastrum nutans, Stenosiphon linifolius.
