Habitat and Description: Rhizomatous shrub forming large thicket, in small opening in pecan-elm riparian woodland on alluvial sand. Associates include Ambrosia trifida, Arundo donax, Carya illinoinensis, Celtis laevigata, Chasmanthium latifolium, Conoclinium coelestinum, Elymus virginicus, Equisetum laevigatum, Panicum virgatum, Platanus occidentalis, Populus deltoides, Sapindus saponaria, Sorghum halepense, Toxicodendron radicans, Ulmus americana.
