Habitat and Description: Locally common in bluestem-dominated prairie grassland on stony clay soils on gentle lower slope with low exposures of Goodland Limestone. Associates include Amsonia ciliata, Bouteloua pectinata, Dalea multiflora, Hedyotis nigricans, Muhlenbergia reverchonii, Oenothera macrocarpa, Paronychia virginica, Schizachyrium scoparium, Silphium albiflorum, Stillingia texana, Vernonia lindheimeri, Yucca pallida.
