Habitat and Description: Shrub to 2 m tall. Foliage covered with aphids and coccinelids. Occasional on broad deep dry gravel bar on scour plain of major flood-prone stream. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Baccharis sp., Brickellia dentata, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Croton monanthogynus, Justicia americana, Palafoxia callosa, Panicum virgatum, small Platanus occidentalis, Ricinus communis, Xanthium strumarium, great kiskadee.
