Habitat and Description: Large, flat open meadow in Pinus taeda forest. Very loose sandy soils. Schizachyrium dominant w. Cnidoscolus, Schrankia, Tradescantia, Vitis, Monarda, Froelichia, Yucca, Solanum, Sapindus, many Cyperaceae and grasses. Clump forming perennial to 50 cm tall. Spikelets tinged w. pink-lavender.
