Habitat and Description: Gently rolling E-facing hills w. Quercus marilandica and scattered Pinus taeda. Pale, loose sandy soil along burn trail. Associated with Ilex vomitoria, Callicarpa, Cyperaceae, Dichanthelium, Euphorbia, Smilax, Eragrostis, Commelina, Oxalis, and Rubus. Perennial ca. 75 cm tall. Panicle branches ascending. Mature spikelets straw-colored.
