Habitat and Description: Rare among gopher mounds in bluestem-dominated opening in mesquite savanna on loose hummocky sands on level upland on S Texas Sand Sheet. Associates include Dalea obovata, Euphorbia innocua, Evax verna, Evolvulus alsinoides, Galactia canescens, Glandularia quadrangulata, Houstonia subviscosa, Lepidium sp., Mitracarpus breviflorus, Oenothera laciniata, Phlox drummondii, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Rhynchosia americana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Scutellaria sp., and Sida cordifolia.
