Habitat and Description: Common in loose fine sandy loam in sandhill openings in live oak - post oak woodland on slope on Lissie (or unmapped Deweyville?) Formation. Associates include Acalypha radians, Brachiaria ciliatissima, Brazoria truncata, Cenchrus spinifex, Cnidoscolus texanus, Coreopsis basalis, Cyperus globulosus, Dalea obovata, Gaillardia aestivalis, Galactia canescens, Helianthemum rosmarinifolium, Juncus marginata, Lechea mucronata, L. san-sabeana, Lupinus subcarnosus, Monarda punctata, Paspalum monostachyum, P. plicatulum, P. setaceum, Pediomelum rhombifolium, Polypremum procumbens, Rhynchosia americana, Rudbeckia hirta, Schizachyrium scoparium, Stillingia texana.
