Habitat and Description: Rare in relatively sparse vegetation on light-colored tight fine sandy loam over claypan on gentle slope and flat along intermittent stream draining sandy landscape of post oak woodlands and coastal prairies underlain by Goliad Formation. Associates include Aristida oligantha, Astranthium integrifolium, Chloris sp., Ditaxis humilis, Dyssodia tenuiloba var. wrightii, Echinocactus texensis, Eragrostis curtipedicellata, E. secundiflora, Evax verna, Froelichia gracilis, Gossypianthus lanuginosus, Isocoma drummondii, Iva angustifolia, Lechea san-sabeana, Mecardonia procumbens, Mollugo verticillata, Muhlenbergia capillaris, Opuntia lindheimeri, Polypremum procumbens, Ruellia nudiflora, Sida ciliaris, Spartina spartinae, Sporobolus pyramidatus, Xanthisma texanum, Willkommia texana.
