Habitat and Description: Goliad Formation (Miocene). Colony-forming shrublet to ca. 16 in. tall; local in shallow well drained sandy soil on somewhat eroded caliche roadcut and hilltop. Associates include Cassia greggii, Calliandra conferta, Cassia greggii, Leucophyllum frutescens, Acacia berlandieri, A. rigidula.
