Habitat and Description: Volcanic rocky soil. Oak-pinyon woodland. Associated plants: Quercus, Juniperus deppeana. Tree, height: 20-30 ft. , D.B.H.: 4-12 in. Uncommon. Bark gray, rough, thick, furrowed into scaly plates.
