Habitat and Description: Abundant in grassland on deep, well drained, friable, neutral fine sand (Sarita Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs) on level to very gently undulating landscape of South Texas Holocene Sand Sheet. Associates include Chloris sp., Cnidoscolus texanus, Commelina erecta, Croton capitatus, C. glandulosus, Eragrostis secundiflora, Froelichia cf. latifolia, Galactia canescens, Monarda fruticulosus, Paspalum sp., Rhynchelytrum repens Richardia brasiliense, Setaria ramiseta, Vaseyochloa multinervosa.
