Locality: United States, Texas, Crockett, Ca. 30 mi. W of Ozona along Hwy 290.
Habitat and Description: Calcareous soils. Annual. Population mostly simple-stemmed. The ray florets bright yellow (not sulphur yellow as in var. filifolium). The disc florets mostly yellow in most plants, but some plants with at least brown or brownish disk florets. Similar populations occur along the roadside all the way to Ozona, but shifting by degrees to var. filifolium eastward from Ozona.
