Habitat and Description: Common in formerly cultivated wildlife food plot in clearing in mesquite-prickly pear shrubland on clay soils on gently undulating upland underlain by various Eocene strata of the Jackson Group. Associates include Aloysia gratissima, Ambrosia confertiflora, Chamaesyce serpens, Croton lindheimerianus, Kallstroemia spp., Opuntia lindheimeri, Pappophorum bicolor, Prosopis glandulosa, Setaria leucopila, Solanum elaeagnifolium, Tidestroemia lanuginosa, and Ziziphus obtusifolius.
