Habitat and Description: Occasional in open shrubland on convex hill of fine sand rising about 15 feet above clayey alluvial plain formed by various channels of Nueces River. Associates include Aphanostephus riddellii, Aristida purpurea, Berberis trifoliolata, Carlowrightia texana, Celtis pallida, Chamaesyce glyptosperma, Croton lindheimerianus, Diospyros texana, Ephedra antisyphilitica, Jatropha dioica, Koeberlinia spinosa, Opuntia leptocaulis, O. lindheimeri, Pennisetum ciliare, Prosopis glandulosa, Yucca treculeana, Y. cf. constricta. Not encountered elsewhere on ranch.
