Habitat and Description: Common in shallow clayey Mollisols in shortgrass grassland component of live oak - mesquite savanna along very shallow drainageway on essentially level plateau upland underlain by Edwards Limestone. Associates include Quercus fusiformis, Prosopis glandulosa, Opuntia lindheimeri, Salvia farinacea, Lupinus texensis, Buchloe dactyloides, Nassella leucotricha.
