Habitat and Description: Occasional in open live oak savanna on deep, loose sandy soils (Pleistocene alluvial deposits?) up level to undulating upland well above current channel and floodplain of San Antonio River. Plants stunted by winter-spring drought? Associates include Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Paspalum mono-stachyrium, Prunus texana, Quercus virginiana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Sphaeralcea lindheimeri, Tetragonatheca repanda, and gophers.
