Habitat and Description: Occasional in mown herbaceous vegetation along edge of medium-stature thorn shrubland on shallow, well drained, friable, moderately alkaline gravelly loam Petrocalcic Calciustolls (Olmos Series) on gently undulating landscape underlain by calcareous sandstone or caliche of Lissie Formation. Shrubland dominated by Acacia rigidula. Other associates include Abutilon wrightii, Acalypha radians, Aristida purpurea, Colubrina texensis, Cynanchum barbigerum, Desmanthus sp., Diospyros texana, Evolvulus alsinoides, E. sericeus, Eysenhardtia texana, Forestiera angustifolia, Galphimia angustifolia, Hedyotis nigricans, Hermannia texana, Melampodium cinereum, Passiflora tenuiloba, Salvia ballotiflora, S. texana, Senna bauhinioides, Thamnosma texanum, Zanthoxylum fagara.
