Habitat and Description: Common in mown herbaceous vegetation along edge of medium-stature thorn shrubland on shallow, well drained, friable, moderately alkaline gravelly loam Petrocalcic Calciustolls (Olmos Series) on level area bordering small ground-level exposure of calcareous sandstone or caliche of Lissie Formation. Shrubland dominated by Acacia berlandieri, A. rigidula. Other associates include Abutilon wrightii, Acalypha radians, Acourtia runcinata, Aristida purpurea, Bouteloua trifida, Colubrina texensis, Cynanchum barbigerum, Diospyros texana, Evolvulus sericeus, Eysenhardtia texana, Forestiera angustifolia, Galphimia angustifolia, Hedyotis nigricans, Hermannia texana, Jatropha dioica, Melampodium cinereum, Passiflora foetida, P. tenuiloba, Salvia ballotiflora, S. texana, Senna bauhinioides, Simsia calva, Thamnosma texanum, Verbena canescens, Yucca treculeana, Zanthoxylum fagara.
