Habitat and Description: Common in shallow, moder-ately well drained, friable, mildly to moderately alkaline sandy clay loam Petrocalcic Paleustolls (Parrita Series) on nearly level topography underlain by calcareous sandstone or caliche of the Lissie Formation, in narrow strip of occasionally mown mix of native herbaceous vegetation and suppressed shrubs. Associates include Abutilon wrightii, Acacia rigidula, Aristida purpurea, Chamaesyce velleriflora, Chloris cf. latisquamea, C. ciliata, Colubrina texensis, Eragrostis secundiflora, Evolvulus alsinoides, Galphimia angustifolia, Hermannia texana, Houstonia nigricans, Indigofera miniata, Menodora heterophylla, Parthenium incanum, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Richardia tricocca, Simsia calva, Thamnosma texana, Tridens muticus.
