Habitat and Description: Common in fallow corn field on deep, well drained, moderately alkaline loam (Clareville Series, Pachic Argiustolls) on level to gently sloping upland underlain by calcareous sandstone of the Lissie Formation. Associates include Aphanostephus ramosissimus, Cenchrus spinifex, Convolvulus equitans, Cynodon dactylon, Dichanthelium annulatum, Eupatorium incarnatum, E. odoratum, Helianthus annuus, Ipomoea cordatotriloba, Linum sp., Oxalis dillenii, Parthenium hysterophorus, Pyrrhopappus pauciflorus, Ratibida columnifera, Salvia coccinea, Sarcostemma cynanchoides, Solanum elaeagnifolium, Teucrium cubense, Verbesina microptera.
