Habitat and Description: Common in fallow corn field on deep, well drained, moderately alkaline loam (Clareville Series, Pachic Argiustolls) on level to gently sloping upland underlain by calcareous sandstone of the Lissie Formation. Associates include Aphanostephus ramosissimus, Cenchrus spini-fex, Convolvulus equitans, Cynodon dactylon, Dichanthelium an-nulatum, Eupatorium incarnatum, Helianthus annuus, Ipomoea cordatotriloba, Linum sp., Oxalis dillenii, Parthenium hyster-ophorus, Pyrrhopappus pauciflorus, Ratibida columnifera, Salvia coccinea, Sarcostemma cynanchoides, Solanum elaeagnifolium, Sorghum halepense, Teucrium cubense, Verbesina microptera.
