Habitat and Description: Rare among other tall forbs in dry cracked clay in bed of seasonal tank on wet-weather stream draining cultivated fields and mesquite woodlands on +/- level upland underlain by Beaumont Formation. Associates include Ambrosia artemisiifolius, Ammoselinum butl-eri, Baccharis neglecta, Calibrachoa parviflora, Cardiospermum halicacabum, Carex tetrastachya, Chloracantha spinosa, Ciclospermum leptophyllum, Clematis drummondii, Croton capitatus, Cynodon dactylon, Echinochloa sp., Glinus radiatus, Panicum maximum, Phyla sp., Polygonum sp.
