Habitat and Description: Common in native shortgrass openings within exotics-dominated midgrass hay-meadow on clayey soils of level upland underlain by Beaumont Formation. Associates include Bothriochloa laguroides, Bouchetia erecta, Bouteloua rigidiseta, Desmanthus virgatus, Dichanthium annulatum, Digitaria cognata, Evolvulus sericeus, Justicia pilosella, Menodora heterophylla, Nassella leucotricha, Panicum obtusum, Ruellia sp., Setaria leucopila, Sida abutifolia.
