Habitat and Description: Occasional in light-colored soil with a shallow surface layer of fine sand, in shortgrass opening in mesquite-colima woodland on gentle slope just below level clayey Beaumont surface. Associates include Aristida sp., Chloris cucullata, Croton glandulosus, Digitaria cognata, Diodia tricocca, Eragrostis curtipedicellata, Eragrostis secundiflora, E. sessilispica, Evolvulus alsinoides, E. sericeus, Gaillardia pulchella, Indigofera miniata, Krameria lanceolata, Mollugo verticillata, Monarda sp., Polypremum procumbens, Tragia sp.
