Habitat and Description: Occasional in light-colored soil with a shallow surface layer of fine sand, in shortgrass opening in mesquite-colima woodland on gentle slope just below level clayey Beaumont surface. Associates include Alophia drummondii, Aphanostephus riddellii, Aristida longiseta, Chloris verticillata, Colubrina texensis, Cynanchum barbigerum, Diodia tricocca, Diospyros texana, Eragrostis secundiflora, E. sessilispica, Evolvulus sericeus, Hedeoma drummondii, Houstonia nigricans, Menodora heterophylla, Prosopis reptans, Rhynchosia americana, Schrankia sp., Sida albifolia, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Thelesperma ambiguum, and Yucca treculeana.
