Habitat and Description: Common in mixed mostly medium-stature shrubland on moderate caliche slope underlain by Beaumont Formation. Associates include Acacia greggii, Baccharis texana, Bouteloua trifida, Castela erecta, Celtis pallida, Colubrina texensis, Condalia hookeri, Cordia podocephala, Cynanchum barbigerum, Dalea pogonathera, Dichanthium annulatum, Diospyros texana, Eysenhardtia texana, Guaiacum angustifolium, Gymnosperma glutinosa, Lantana urticoides, Leucophyllum frutescens, Oxalis dichondrifolia, Prosopis glandulosa, Salvia ballotiflora, Schoenocaulon drummondii, Tridens eragrostoides, Wedelia texana, Zanthoxylum fagara.
