Habitat and Description: Common on closely mown unshaded lawn on mosaic of light to dark-colored mostly clayey soils on level upland underlain by Beaumont Formation. Associates include Ambrosia confertiflora, Asclepias oenotheroides, Buchloe dactyloides, Chamaesaracha coronopus, Cooperia sp., Croton leucophyllus, Cynodon dactylon, Dalea sp., Desmanthus virgatus, Evolvulus sericeus, Hybanthus verticillatus, Indigofera miniata, Justicia pilosella, Malvastrum coromandelianum, Menodora heterophylla, Phyla nodiflora, Portulaca pilosa, Prosopis glandulosa (sprouts), Ruellia nodiflora.
