Habitat and Description: Local in weedy herbaceous vegetation in fallow field on soils mapped as deep, well drained, friable, calcareous, moderately alkaline sandy clay loam (Pernitas Series, Typic Argiustolls), on level upland underlain by caliche or calcareous sandstone of the Lissie Formation. Associates include Amaranthus palmeri, Aster subulatus, Cucumis melo, Eupatorium incarnatum, Euphorbia nutans, Helianthus annuus, Heterotheca subaxillaris, Passiflora foetida, Parthenium hysterophorus, Sorghum halepense, Urochloa fasciculata, U. texana.
