Habitat and Description: Locally common in grassy vegetation on highway right-of-way through live oak savanna on gently rolling topography underlain by isolated Holocene windblown sand deposits. Associates include Acalypha radians, Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Aristida purpurea, Cenchrus spinifex, Chaetopappa asteroides, Chamaecrista fascicularis, Chloris cucullata, Cnidoscolus texanus, Croton glandulosus, Cyperus sp., Daucus pusillus, Dichanthium annulatum (rare), Diospyros texana, Gaillardia pulchella, Helianthus debilis, Heterotheca subaxillaris, Mentzelia oligosperma, Mirabilis albida, Monarda punctata, Nuttallanthus texanus, Oenothera laciniata, Opuntia leptocaulis, Phlox drummondii, Plantago hookeriana, Rhynchosia americana, Sida lindheimeri, Silene antirrhina, Tephrosia lindheimeri, Trichoneura elegans.
