Locality: United States, Texas, Uvalde, In valley of Hackberry Creek ca. 500-1000 ft. E of Co. Rd. 336 from a point ca. 2.4-2.6 roadmiles N of jct. St. Rt. 127, ca. 2.6 airmiles E to ENE of jct. St. Rt. 127 and F. M. 2690, on Bradford-Hixon Ranch, at N29o28'05.8", W099o37'35.9". Concan Quadrangle. Elev. 1200 - 1210 ft.

Habitat and Description: Common in open mesquite woodland (mesquite-invaded pasture grassland) on deep to shallow, well drained, calcareous, moderately alkaline, gravelly clay or clay loam (Montell and Dev series) on valley flat between slopes of Devils River Limestone. Dominant grasses include Nassella leucotricha, Erioneuron pilosum and Aristida purpurea. Other associates include Croton monanthogynus, Daucus pusillus, Eriochloa sericea, Gaillardia pulchella, Lesquerella sp., Linum rigidum, Mimosa sp., Opuntia lindheimeri, Phlox roemeriana, Pinaropappus roseus, Salvia texana, Sedum nuttallianum.
