Habitat and Description: Common in light-colored soil with a shallow surface layer shallow of fine sand, in shortgrass opening in mesquite-colima woodland on gentle slope and flat just below level clayey Beaumont surface. Associates include Alophia drummondii, Aphanostephus riddellii, Chloris verticillata, Colubrina texensis, Cynan-chum barbigerum, Diodia tricocca, Diospyros texana, Eragrostis secundiflora, E. sessilispica, Evolvulus sericeus, Hedeoma cf. drummondii, Houstonia nigricans, Meodora heterophylla, Prosopis reptans, Rhynchosia americana, Schrankia sp., Sida abutifolia, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Thelesperma ambiguum, Yucca treculeana.
