Habitat and Description: Occasional in forested acid seep along edge of marsh on mucky soils in damned streambottom, base of slope underlain by Sparta Sand. Associates include Arisaema triphyllum, Brunnichia ovata, Campsis radicans, Diospyros virginiana, Eleocharis sp., Eryngium prostratum, Hydrocotyle ranunculoides, H. verticillata, Ilex opaca, Juncus effusus, Lycopus sp., Mikania scandens, Morella cerifera, Nyssa sylvatica, Osmunda cinnamomea, O. regalis, Persicaria sp., Populous deltoides, Quercus nigra, Q. phellos, Saururus cernuus, Smilax sp., Sphagnum sp., Triadenum sp., Woodwardia areolata.
