Habitat and Description: Common in deep, moderately well drained, neutral, loose fine sand (Patilo Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs) over sediments of Calvert Bluff Formation (Eocene), on disturbed roadside in partial shade of post oak woodland. Associates include Scleria triglomerata, Schizachyrium scoparium, Baptisia leucophaea, Chaetopappa asteroides, Helianthemum rosmarinifolium, Polypremum procumbens, Schrankia sp., Lechea spp., Tradescantia sp., Trifolium bejariense, and Phacelia patuliflora.
