Habitat and Description: Common in deep sand or loamy sand on level unshaded occasionally mown highway ROW in live oak savanna on South Texas Sand Sheet. Associates include Gaillardia pulchella, Phlox cuspidata, Allium sp., Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Castilleja indivisa, Lupinus subcarnosus, Lobelia berlandieri var. berlandieri, Coreopsis neucensoides, Brazoria arenaria, and Phacelia sp.
