Habitat and Description: Occasional in disturbed red sandy clay loam in mown shortgrass grassland dominated by Buchloe dactyloides and Aristida purpurea. Other associates include Allium drummondii, Bouteloua rigidiseta, Castilleja purpurea var. citrina, Erigeron strigosus, Hordeum pusillum, Hymenoxys linearifolia, Krameria lanceolata, Machaeranthera australis, Oenothera speciosa, Pyrrhopappus sp., Schedonnardus paniculatus, Scutellaria drummondii, Sisyrinchium scabrum, Sphaeralcea coccinea, Stipa leucotricha, Teucrium laciniatum, Thelesperma filifolium, and Tradescantia occidentalis.
