Habitat and Description: Occasional in opening in mesquite-colima shrubland on deep loose loamy sand on very gently undulating landscape of South Texas Sand Sheet. Associates include Acacia greggii, Allium runyonii, Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Callirhoe involucrata, Celtis pallida, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Forestiera angustifolia, Hybanthus verticillatus, Oenothera grandis, O. laciniata, Opuntia lindheimeri, Phlox drummondii, Prosopis glandulosa, Senecio ampullaceus, Zanthoxylum fagara.
