Habitat and Description: Common in sand road and other mechanically disturbed spots in otherwise intact grassland on deep loose sand on very gently undulating landscape of South Texas Sand Sheet. Associates include Acacia greggii, Ambrosia psilostachya, Aristida purpurea, Callirhoe involucrata, Cenchrus spinifex, Cnidoscolus texanus, Commelina erecta, Croton parksii, Ditaxis pilosissima, Evolvulus alsinoides, Houstonia subviscosa, Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Lesquerella grandiflora, Linaria texana, Monarda fruticulosa, Oenothera laciniata, Opuntia leptocaulis, O. lindheimeri, Paronychia jonesii, Phlox drummondii, Physalis spathulifolia, Prosopis glandulosa, Prunus texana, Schizachyrium scoparium var. littorale, Scutellaria sp., Senecio ampullaceus, Setaria sp., Sphaeralcea lindheimeri, Tephrosia lindheimeri, Urochloa ciliatissima, Verbesina encelioides, Yucca constricta.
