Habitat and Description: Rare in opening in mesquite-colubrina shrubland on somewhat sandy soil on gentle slope along drainage just below flat surface of coastal prairie on Beaumont Formation. Associates include Colubrina texensis, Digitaria cognata, Lithospermum incisum, Monarda punctata, Oenothera speciosa, Spermolepis echinata, Teucrium cubense, Xylothamia palmeri.
